"Dabo-nana Pudding Recipe"

<-- Back to David Stein page

Ya know...if you're gonna be ALL IN for Clempson...ya'll gotta have some 'naner puddin'. Some folks like to make theirs from scratch, but this recipe (that I begged Kim Gregory for) is a stone cold lock! I have never taken this to a party that it hasn't been the Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

Yeah...it's pudding from a box...trust me...it's good...and I use low fat stuff...so it's...um...healthy :)

  • 2 large boxes of Jello Pudding VANILLA INSTANT.
  • 1 small box of Jello Pudding BANANA CREAM INSTANT
  • 5 cups of 2% milk
  • 1 oz. container of low fat SOUR CREAM (secret ingredient)
  • 16 oz. container of Cool Whip LITE
  • 1 and a 1/2 boxes of vanilla wafers (Murrays if you can find it...'Nilla from Nabisco is fine, too)
  • and, oh, bananas. I use 8 decent size bananas....ripe.

Try to make the pudding the night before and let the flavors marry overnight in the fridge. Mix the pudding and the milk. Add the sour cream and whisk it up real good. Then the party begins:

    Layer in this order:

  • Cover bottom of pan with vanilla wafers...make sure they are touching each other.
  • Layer in half of the pudding.
  • Cover that layer in slices of banana.
  • Layer in half of the Cool Whip.
  • Another layer of wafers.
  • The rest of the pudding.
  • The rest of the Cool Whip.

Now...right before you serve Dabo-nana Pudding, cover the top with ANOTHER layer of crispy fresh vanilla wafers (don't put that layer on until you are serving or they will get stale.)

  • Enjoy the pudding praise...and GO TIGERS!
